Hi, I have to say that for many years I too ignored the bloody mary or wondered what all the hoopla was about. I would watch tv shows where sophisticated women would have them for brunch, and well, hey, I considered myself sophisticated, so I had to try it. My first one was riding first class to Barbados with my husband and I mention "first class" because we always go coach, we're not rich, but my sweet husband is in business and he decided to upgrade us this time with his frequent flyer miles points. So there we were, free drinks at 8am in the morning. Only two drinks seemed appropriate, mimosas and bloody marys and since they weren't serving any sparkling wines to mix with the o.j. , we decided to try the bloody mary. It was delicious! I found a new friend. So thanks for the post. I totally understand. The bloody mary certainly isn't a regular in my life but there are those times when no other cocktail seems to fit; like 8am on the way to Barbados.
Cheers
